New York/St. Maarten:--- Former University of St. Martin student Ramzan Juman, copped an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award on Sunday at Monroe College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology. Juman graduated with a perfect 4.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average. Monroe College has already seen potential in Ramzan Juman and hired him as a part time IT technician.
Juman, who is a French citizen and resident of St. Martin did most of his education on Dutch St. Maarten, he completed his primary school education at the Methodist Agogic Center (MAC), he obtained his high school diploma at the St. Maarten Academy (academic section) and later began his college education at the University of St. Martin where he obtained the Dean's Award when he graduated in 2013 with his Associate of Arts Degree in General Liberal Arts.
Ramzan moved to the USA to further his education just two years ago; simply because he wanted to further his studies in Information Technology and this was not possible at the University of St. Martin. During his two year stint at Monroe College Ramzan secured several industry certifications such as Security+, A+, Network+, and CWTS. He intends to obtain his CCNA certification in July 2014. While attending school Ramzan also assisted his mother by working as the webmaster for SMN News. For those that don't know Ramzan Juman, he has a history of his own, one that has been challenging yet he did not give up. In 2004 while attending high school Ramzan was struck with bone cancer, he spent just over one year in France where he obtained treatment and underwent major surgeries before returning to St. Maarten to continue his education at the St. Maarten Academy. In 2007, just months before he sat the CXC examinations the cancer returned in both of his lungs. For the second time Ramzan had to leave school and return to France where he had major surgeries done to remove the tumors. To prove that nothing, not even cancer would stop him; Ramzan returned to St. Maarten one month after the surgeries and continue to study so he could finalize his high school education.
His message to young adults is simple, go after your dreams, never give up and most of all do not ask what your country could do for you instead ask what you could do for your country. Ramzan intends to pursue a Master's Degree in Telecommunications and Networking after working for a year to gain more experience in the IT industry.
SMN News is proud of its webmaster's accomplishment and extends hearty congratulations to Ramzan Juman for a job well done.
