SOUTH REWARD:--- The South Reward Community finally has its first established organization that promises to represent the interests of the community at large. The South Reward Community Council (SRCC) will act as a liaison between the community, business organizations and government.
The objective of the SRCC is to improve and stimulate the social, cultural and economic development of individuals and businesses in the South Reward Community in the fields of: health and sport, human rights, parental rights, education, finance, labour, parenting, safety and business development. In general, the council will strive to foster a strong community within our country St. Maarten.
The council consists of (5) Board Members, Mrs. Altagracia Provence as President, Mr. Armand Meda as Vice President, Mr. George Peterson as board Member, Ms. Stella Lake as Treasurer and Mr. Travis Mc Quilkin as Secretary.
The SRCC's first order of business was to assist the family of Shudeska Brooks by providing some financial and emotional assistance.
Loic Bryan, owner of Artistic Drive, located in Philipsburg, donated Naf. 1.000, - towards the medical bills of Shudeska Brooks. The cheque was presented to the father, Fitz Sinclair on Thursday, June 12, 2014. The cheque was made out to the medical center to reduce some of her medical bills.
Loic Bryan is a well-known local Graphic Artist and Photographer who has expressed his disgust towards the situation and decided to actively do something about it. Mr. Bryan's organization, Artistic Drive will be planning an outing with the family to help the youngster overcome some of her fears after going through such a horrific event. Mrs. Altagracia Provence and Travis Mc Quilkin were also present for the receiving of the cheque to represent the SRCC and to endorse what this organization is doing.
