ST. PETERS:--- On Thursday, June 12th, the St. Peters Community Council received Naf. 5,000 from Cooperations. The grant will be used to cover the costs of the Community's first week of summer camp for the children from the St. Peters area.
The board members of the St. Peters Community Council expressed their appreciation and thanked Cooperating Foundations. This start-up grant is a great first step in hopefully bringing enough money together for approximate 50 children for a 5-week summer-camp. Most of these children do not have the opportunity to go on vacation, but will still have an alternative with the fun-filled summer camp activities organized by board member Shanna De Riggs. So far already over 30 children are registered and the board is looking forward to more registrations.
The donation comes as a mini-grant and was approved by the local Advisory Council of Cooperating Foundations St. Maarten.
