FC Soualiga hosts successful Second Annual Business Soccer Tournament.

fcsoualigabusinesssoccertournament23062014BELVEDERE:--- The women's soccer team FC Soualiga hosted their 2nd Annual Business Soccer Tournament on Saturday June the 21st, 2014, at the Johan Cruyff Court in Belvedere. Eight teams participated in the tournament showing great enthusiasm and skill. All teams had to have at least 3 ladies on the field at all times during the 6- a side game. The teams were assisted by the FC Soualiga ladies whenever necessary, as the goal of the tournament was to promote a healthy, fun and active way of team building, while stimulating female participation in sports, more specifically in soccer.

The community of Belvedere and supporters came out at large and were treated to an entire Saturday of fun and entertaining play by Nagico Insurances; Prime Distributors; the Social Insurance Bank (SZV); International Liquors, Tobacco & Trading (ILTT); the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth & Sports Affairs (OCJS); Immigration; Divi Little Bay Hotel and the Front Street Runners.

FC Soualiga would like to congratulate the winners of the tournament Nagico Insurances as well as the runner up Prime Distributors. Both teams put up an amazing fight as the finale match ended with an exciting penalty shoot out, with Nagico winning with just one extra point during the match. In addition to the two winners, SZV was awarded a prize as the most enthusiastic team of the tournament.

FC Soualiga would like to thank the sponsors who helped make this day a success: Prime Distributors, International Liquors, Tobacco & Trading, Dominos Pizza and St. Rose Beach Bar. FC Soualiga could not have hosted such a successful event without the help of their dedicated volunteers who again tirelessly donated their time and effort to help out during the day. A great thank you goes out especially to the referees, the lovely concession stand ladies, the Belvedere community and the Red Cross, along with all the fans and supporters who came out and enjoyed the day along with the team and local businesses.
