Democratic Party to Start "You Cannot Buy My Vote" Campaign on Friday.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The board and members of the Democratic Party will launch a campaign this Friday with the title "You Cannot Buy My Vote". Prime Minister of St. Maarten Sarah Wescot Williams made the announcement at the Council of Ministers press briefing on Wednesday.

MP Laville Dispatched Letter to PM requesting information on Motions adopted in Parliament.

Wescot Williams also informed the media that she received a letter from Member of Parliament Romain Laville who wanted to know what has government done thus far on at least two motions. One of the motions Laville referred to is the Electoral Reform. The Prime Minister said that she already informed the Parliament of St. Maarten that all the points mentioned in that motion are already regulated in the penal code. Wescot Williams said that if the political parties want to do something with what they want addressed then they could begin a campaign to inform voters about what is regulated in the penal code regarding elections.
Another announcement Wescot Williams made on Wednesday is that the Minister of Justice Dennis Richardson tried seek consensus with at least three political parties to form the guidelines for the upcoming elections. Wescot Williams said that so far the Democratic Party and the National Alliance already met with the Minister of Justice and gave their input but the United People's Party refused to participate.
