WILLEMSTAD, Curacao:--- As of 1 October, 2014 law firm VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne has a new executive committee. New members are Focco Lunsingh Scheurleer (managing partner) and Mayesi Hammoud. Along with current chief financial officer Esther Jansen the trio will be leading the organization with seventy employees in five locations.
Lunsingh Scheurleer and Hammoud take over from Frank Kunneman, who was managing partner for fifteen years. Frank, who led the firm to its current leading market position in the region, will now focus on the specialized Governance, Risk & Compliance team launched earlier this year.
Forty-four year old Focco Lunsingh Scheurleer is attorney at law since 1995. He started his career in the Netherlands. Since 2000, Focco is based on Curacao and practices in the region. In 2004, he made partner. Focco assists clients in capital markets transactions and corporate law. Outside the legal profession, Focco was board member of the Curacao International Financial Services Association, part-time lecturer in international and corporate law at the UoC, and he is the past president of Rotary Club Willemstad.
Mayesi Hammoud started her career as an attorney at law at the firm in 2003 and made partner in 2012. She has a general commercial practice, serving clients in the private and public sector. Mayesi, a Curacao native, is a member of the Social Economic Council (SER) and an alternate member of the Board of Trustees for Attorneys at Law.
Both attorneys will continue to practice in full. Next to legal expertise, VanEps Kunneman VanDoorne is praised for its practical knowledge of the client sectors that firm serves, for instance by independent legal publisher Chambers & Partners.
