POND ISLAND:--- Organizers of the 2nd annual TelCell Breakthrough talent search contest do not expect to see a spare seat in the house, when the curtains open for the first act at the Theater Royale, Maho, Saturday.
According to co-organizer, Angel Richardson, except for reserved places, all seats are being allotted on a first come first served basis. She is therefore advising visitors and guests to arrive early to take their seats or risk having to stand throughout all the acts.
"We want everyone to know the situation from the outset so that there are no complaints on the night," said Angel.
"We will open the venue at 7:30 pm for seating and we plan to start on time at 8:00 pm because, as well as the 23 performers on state for the night, we will also have some guest appearances," said the co-organizer and coordinator in collaboration with events promotion company Xtratight Entertainment.
According to the organizers, all the performers have been fine-tuning their acts during the past month, sometimes for many hours into the night.
"People in the audience will be very impressed with the quality of the talent we will have on show for them this year and once again we expect the panel of judges to have a tough time announcing the winners in each category," continued Angel.
She said ever since the final auditions for the show were held at the Culture Center Backstreet, in August, excitement has been growing in the community about Saturday's finals.
"The momentum really picked up in the past two weeks when we started SMS voting with TelCell customers who were asked to name their favourite performer for a special prize on the night," said Angel.
Performing amongst the finalists on Saturday are: Rumari Rogers, Michelle Sullivan, Paul Brown, , Brandon Potmis, Tommy Lee Busby, Rijkman Hodge, Tristan Defoe, Generation New Status (GNS STM), Tevin Williams, Renaldo Connor Jr., Angelica Brown, Quan Gordon, Arias-4, Latanisha Jasaron, Yash Daryani, Sabrina Gourdet, Adriano Lake, Deveny Elferink, Serenity Martinus, Sha-Neisha Gijsbertha, Sinatra Bauld, and Zack Phipps.
In a final briefing with all the contestants, the organizers wished them all the very best of luck in the finals, knowing that their fans, family and friends will be out there rooting for them.
"Of course it is a competition, but in our eyes everyone on stage in a winner and we want everyone to feel that way whether they take home the trophy or not Saturday," continued Angel.
She said members of the public will be able to witness the show for themselves just like they saw the auditions, when they are aired on St. Maarten Cable TV by AVS Production Studios on a date still to be announced.
