Residents on French St. Martin complain about the slow clean up process.

MARIGOT:--- Several residents and business owners on French St. Martin are upset due to the slow clean up process on the French side since the passing of Hurricane Gonzalo. Several of the residents and some business persons told SMN News that while they are busy removing the fallen trees and other de‎bris from their yards and business places and placing them on the roadside for the Collectivity clean up crew, that process isn't being done in a timely manner. They said there are huge traffic backups because of the debris and fallen trees in several areas on the French side.
Business owners are also complaining about the France Telecom crew whom they said they have not seen on the road. "We are seeing EDF trying with the fallen light posts and wires, the water company is also busy restoring broken pipes and meters but workers from France Telecom are missing in action. As business people we are highly affected because we cannot process credit card purchases neither can we have Internet access." The business owners said they know France Telecom is not providing customer service and it's time they get a bigger competition to throw them out of business here in the French Caribbean.
