GREAT BAY:--- The St. Maarten Police Force, as part of their ongoing Crime Awareness Project, administered a Robbery Awareness Training to the staff, agents and brokers of NAGICO Insurances on Friday afternoon.
The training which took place at the NAGICO Head Office in Philipsburg, is just one of the many ways the police has partnered with the community to sensitize citizens, especially the business community about robbery prevention methods.
Police spokesman; Ricardo Henson explained that the training was administered in two-fold; theory and practical with special emphasis on armed robbery awareness.
He also stated that the training will be administered to other business organization that are potential targets, such as; banks, casinos and jewelry stores based on requests.
Meanwhile the management and staff of NAGICO applauded the police for their proactive step in trying to prevent robberies by spreading awareness.
The training was spearheaded by the Community Police Officers and members of the SWAT team.
