ashleydanielofthunderzshoots02122014SUCKER GARDEN:--- The Walichi Basketball Association (WBA) & Motorworld and Jeep Presents Ladies Basketball Championship games continued last weekend with Lightning continuing their game winning streak with a victory of 61-38 against the Bush Tea Remedy. By the end of the first half, Lightning led 28-17 and never looked back.Lead by their defense the Lightning team ended the game on a 16-3 run and struck the Bush Tea Remedy for a 23 point win. Jamaiah Newton Herbert was named Motorworld Player Of The Game with 25 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists. She was assisted by Tsjaquilla Jeffrey with 16 points and 6 assists. Bush Tea Remedy was lead by the strong play of Cardillia Nicholas with 20 points, 9 rebounds and Nasmarie Doran with 12 points and 5 steals.

Action continued Sunday afternoon as Thunderz went onto a 68-30 victory over Learning Unlimited. Thunderz lead 18-6 after the first quarter and never looked back. Joyette lead her team with 17 points in the first half to lead Thunderz to a 36-17 Halftime lead. With ease, Joyette Lloyd was named Motorworld Player Of The Game with 33 points, 14 rebounds and 4 steals. Alongside her was Chantel Hodge with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 steals. Top players for Learning Unlimited were Jakisha Brooks and Abby Jones with both 12 points.

Lightning tipped off against the undefeated Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls. This was another exciting game played through in the Ladies Basketball Championship. In the first quarter Lightning led 11-6, in the second quarter lightning continued their aggressiveness and lead 21-20 at the half. With the determination to beat the undefeated Cash 4 Gold Lava Girlz, Lighting kept the lead until the last minutes of the fourth quarter. Both teams were not giving up, but the Cash 4 Gold Lava Girlz managed to make free throws in the last minutes to take the lead and get the win and stay undefeated. Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls won the game 38-36. Claudia Fleming was named Motorworld Player Of The Game with 11 points and making key free throws at the end to give her team the win. Alongside her was Wendy Jack with 10 points and Selah Fleming with 6 points. Top players for Lighting were Kayla Robinson with 10 points and 12 rebounds and Jamaiah Newton—Herbert with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Action continues Saturday 6:00pm, as Learning Unlimited tip-off against Bush Tea Remedy and look to get their first win of the season. Sunday at 3:00 pm, Lightning meet up once again against the Cash 4 Gold Lava Girlz and at 5:00 pm, Thunderz tip off against Bush Tea Remedy.

Standings so far are Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls, 6-0, Thunderz 6-1, Lightning 4-3, Bush Tea Remedy 1-6 and Learning Unlimited 0-6.
