SUCKER GARDEN:--- The Walichi Basketball Association (WBA) & Motorworld and Jeep Presents Ladies Basketball Championship games continued last weekend and started off with a Saturday game between Learning Unlimited and Bush Tea Remedy.
The game was very competitive and exciting and ended with Bush Tea Remedy being up 1 at the half 26-25. The momentum shifted to Learning Unlimited where they outscored Bush Tea Remedy 20-12 in the third and begon the fourth quarter on a 8-0 run to go up 53-38. Bush Tea Remedy had a little run in the end but it was too late. Learning Unlimited held on for the win 55-49. Learning Unlimited was lead by Motorworld Player Of The Game Jakisha Brooks who had 29 Points, 19 Rebounds, 5 Steals, 3 Blocks, and 1 Assist. She was assisted by Fabiana Richardson who had 10 Points, 5 Rebounds, 2 Assists and 4 Steals.
Bush Tea Remedy was lead by their guards in double digit scoring with
Tammika Grell with 14 Points, 7 Rebounds and Keri Hyman with 11 Points and 3 Rebounds. They were assisted by
Cardillia Nicholas who pulled down 24 rebounds and chipped in 9 Points and
Cresencia Brown who pulled down 17 rebounds and chipped in 7 points.
The first game on Sunday was between Learning Unlimited and Thunderz and end up being Learning Unlimited forfeit due to lack of players.
The 5 pm game on Sunday was an intense game between MGM Lightning and Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls.
Cash 4 Gold Lava girls started the game strong and lead 18-5 after the first quarter but MGM Lightning fought back in the second half and was only down 33-29 at the end of the third quarter. MGM Lightning started off strong and lead 41-34 mid way through the fourth but Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls fought back with a game ending 10-1 run to win 44-42.
Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls was lead by Motorworld Player Of The Game
Wendy Jack who had 24 points, 9 Rebounds and 6 steals. She was assisted by Claudia Fleming with 8 Points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.
Jamaiah lead lightning with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 1 block. She was assisted by Micaela Galva with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 Steals.
After week 12, the standings are Thunderz at 11-2, Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls 10-2, MGM Lightning 8-5, Learning Unlimited 2-10 and Bush Tea Remedy 1-12.
Games continue this weekend on Saturday as Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls take on Bush Tea Remedy at 6pm. On Sunday at 3pm Learning Unlimited go up against MGM Lightning and at 5pm #2 Cash 4 Gold Lava Girls go up against #1 Thunderz.
