AVA Airways representatives meet with Member of Parliament

avareps18022015WILLEMSTAD – Last week was another milestone for the soon to be local aviation company AVA Airways. The representatives of the company had the opportunity to meet with the leader of the coalition party PNP and also Member of Parliament, Humphrey Davelaar. Davelaar is the leader of the party that has appointed Earl Balborda as Minister of Transport, Traffic and Urban Planning. Balborda's Ministry is responsible for the aviation sector of the island.

AVA Airways, represented by its President Giovanni Atalita and co-founder Olivier Arrindell, gave an extensive explanation about the progress of the aviation company. They also spoke about the added value the airline will have for the economy of the island.

In 2014, Arrindel presented his plans to the Minister of Economic Development, Stanley Palm. "One of our main objectives is to learn from the past and to propose a bold new direction for commercial aviation in Curacao. Curacao's economic situation needs this at the moment," Arrindell stated.

"AVA Airways will be a pioneer in the Caribbean. From the way we sell our tickets to the services we offer on our aircrafts, to even which type of aircraft we will use, will be completely innovative, especially for an island like Curacao," said the airline co-founder.

AVA Airways meets with Airbus regional representatives

avaairbus18022015WILLEMSTAD:--- The new aviation company AVA Airways again takes another step in the right direction. The President of the company, Giovanni Atalita and the Chairman of the Board, Olivier Arrindell met with Airbus' regional representatives here on Curaçao.

Representing Airbus were Mr. Gonzalo Ramos Garzón who is the sales director for Latin America and the Caribbean and Mr. Ismael Gomez-Martin who works in the marketing division of the aircraft manufacturer.

The main point of the meeting was the pending AVA's economic permit, which is still being processed by the Curaçao Civil Aviation Company. Once the permit has been granted, the airline can then proceed with its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC). The negotiations between the two parties can then continue with the acquisition of the needed aircrafts.

AVA Airways will start its operations with the A319/A320 aircraft types. The Airbus representatives also explained about the Airbus A320neo.

The Airbus A320neo family is a family of aircraft under development by Airbus replacing the predecessor A320 family (now A320ceo (current engine option). The letters "neo" stand for "New Engine Option" and are the last step of the modernization program A320 Enhanced (or "A320E") which was started in 2006.

According to Mr. Arrindell this type of aircraft fits perfect into AVA's operations.

Both AVA's representatives were very satisfied with the meeting and are looking forward to the cooperation with one of the world's leading aircraft manufacturer.
