PHILIPSBURG:--- Be the Change recently presented a $1000.00 check to Merlyn Schaminee of No Kidding with Our Kids Foundation.
The funds will be used to help build a shaded outdoor area for the children to use in the afternoon.
No Kidding with Our Kids is an afterschool care program, operating since 1996, for underprivileged children from the ages of 4 to 14. They offer creative, recreational and educational activities, to help children get better acquainted with proper, constructive, and active ways of using leisure time.
Being able to sit in an outdoor shaded area for discussions, reading sessions and other activities will not only benefit the children to participate in a more concentrated and focused manner, but it also will give them the opportunity to enjoy being outdoors instead of always being inside.
Be the Change is proud to support such a worthy organization that is committed to helping the less fortunate children in our community.
