PHILIPSBURG:--- Eight (8) students from the Dr. Martin Luther King School in Dutch Quarter, were named the Nagico Little Stars for the 2014- 2015 school year.
The NAGICO Little Stars project, grants the top performer in every grade within the school a scholarship for the next school term, which consists of a fully paid tuition fee for one school year and a voucher to cover the costs of school supplies; including books and school uniforms for the next school term.
The students chosen were the top performers in their respective groups, who excelled in academics, attendance and their overall behavior throughout the school year.
The selection process which was done by the teachers and principal of the MLK School was also observed and vetted by a representative of NAGICO Insurances for transparency reasons. The Nagico Little Stars winners are:

"We are very proud of our students," Principal of the MLK School; Stuart Johnson said during the selection meeting. "They have raised the bar and risen to the challenge to show that once they are given the opportunity to shine, they are very capable of achieving success."
He also thanked Nagico for executing such a great initiative, which he believes will benefit many families and also help to "In my capacity I see firsthand how difficult it is for several parents to provide the students with the items they need to exercise their basic right to education which every child is entitled to," Johnson said. "By doing this Nagico has opened doors for many of our students and taken the financial burden off at least 8 households by creating this opportunity through their Nagico Little Stars program and for that we applaud them and most importantly for choosing our school, the MLK school as their first choice."
