PHILIPSBURG:---- On Saturday July 18, 2015, the St. Maarten Zoological and Botanical Foundation hosted a Bonfire & BBQ Fundraiser which was a great success. The event started at 6:00 pm sharp with the lighting of the tiki lamps and the igniting of the bonfire which was placed in the common area of the zoo.
The atmosphere was as promised, warm and relaxed, families came dressed in the T’s and jeans. The children were entertained by Funtophia. They received individually designed balloons and they also played childlike games and made full use of the playground facilities. The children also took part in a dance off competition which gave one child the opportunity to receive a raffle ticket for their parents for a “Weekend Getaway” at Royal Islander Club LaTerrasse Resort. The three finalists were Camicko, Jayden and Ceth.
Besides the relaxed atmosphere, music was provided by Genesis Music Group, which gave everyone the opportunity to dance the night away. Food and drinks were also on sale which was provided by Captain D’s.
