PHILIPSBURG:---- On Monday the 20th of July approximately 3:30pma police patrol was dispatched to Calabas Drive in Almond Grove where a 65 year old male was robbed and beaten in his home when he was confronted by a masked intruder. After severely injuring the victim, the assailant managed to still search the victims’ home and left with undisclosed amount of items from the home. Patrols responded quickly, but the assailant managed to evade capture. Members of the forensic department were on the scene and detectives are conducting an investigation. The victim was transported to the French side to seek medical attention for his injuries. Contact was made with the victim who is still in hospital. He will be flown to Guadeloupe for further medical attention.
