nia11082015Longwall Road:---- Friday August 14th, Saturday August 14th and Saturday August 15th National Institute of Arts, NIA in collaboration with Sunshine Theater Foundation is proud to present P. J. Gibson's Konvergence. Konvergence stars two amazing actors Amalya Adams and Felix Flemming.

P. J. Gibson, an African American playwright, has written more than 30 plays, although many of these remain unpublished. Konvergence is a play also written by P. J. Gibson. Derek, played by Felix Fleming, is a politician in America during the 1970’s, a time that gave rise to the affluent upper class black folk. Nanyel, played by Amalya Adams, his wife, dedicates her time to “save the community” and promote her husband’s political campaign. As Derek climbs the social, political and financial ladder he begins to “change” or as Nanyel likes to put it “assimilate”, therefore, putting a rift in their marriage. At the height of his career, Derek concocts an “agreement” insisting that they take a year time off on their marriage. Without much choice, Nanyel “agrees.” Come see how the story unfolds.

Konvergence, a theatrical production directed by noted director Felix Fleming. Will take place at National Institute of Arts, NIA, located at the John Larmonie Building, Longwall Road #20 on August 14, 15 & 16 at 8pm nightly. Tickets are $15 dollars in advance, $20 at the door. Tickets are for sale at NIA.
