PHILIPSBURG:--- The prosecutor’s office have decided to remove Prosecutor Gonda van der Wulp from the case against the Buncamper’s which is scheduled to be heard on September 9th 2015. SMN News understands Prosecutor Van der Wulp took photographs with her cellular phone during the house search at the Buncamper’s residence earlier this year.
SMN News further learnt that the lawyer representing the Buncamper's Attorney at Law Jairo Bloem filed a complaint against the prosecutor thus leading for her being taken off the case. Several phone calls made to Attorney Bloem on Friday for a comment proved futile on Friday.
In an invited comment press prosecutor Karola van Nie confirmed that Van Wulp has been taken off the case and has been replaced by Dounia Bennamar. Van Nie said that the removal of Van Wulp from the Buncamper’s case has nothing to do with a complaint filed by anyone including the attorney representing the Buncamper’s. Van Nie refused to comment further on the removal of her colleague from the case, she even refused to give the reasons why the Prosecutor’s Office decided to replace Van der Wulp. Van Nie said the Prosecutor’s office will explain their reasons and what really transpired during the hearing which is scheduled for September 9th 2015. "We have decided not to discuss this matter in the media but will give full discloser to the court when the case is heard. We will also tell the court what happened and what the legal consequences should be according to the prosecutor's office." Van Nie did not say what other sanctions were issued against Van der Wulp other than her removal from the case.
