PHILIPSBURG:--- The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of GEBE Rene Gartner has become smarter when it comes to abusing his power and the finances of GEBE for his personal benefits. Gartner who was caught and warned for the abuse of the company’s credit card has chosen not to use the credit card any longer but instead using food and beverage bonds and coupon to fulfill his personal desires.
The management board of GEBE secured agreements with at least two businesses namely Chippie’s Café and Kings Mart where the members of the management team could order food and beverages with no limited amount. The companies would then bill GEBE at the end of each month through its finance department. At the end of August Chippie’s Café sent in an invoice to GEBE with number 1150901 where Gartner racked up $1,228.26 through food coupons.
The invoice which is attached to this article shows that Gartner had an outstanding balance of $650.28. On August 15th 2015 Gartner had a food bill of $208.43, August 26th $359.55 while on July 15th $10.00, the total of the August invoice comes up to $1,228.26. Besides these coupon use Gartner has added to his salary Naf.615.00 for personal cost in the event he should be representing the company at any lunch meetings. The latter is clearly stipulated in Gartner’s working contract.
While the management board has this agreement with these two companies Gartner is obliged to indicate what meetings he attended and with whom on behalf of the company but nowhere that is shown. More stunning is amount of alcoholic beverages Gartner purchased on August 15th 2015.
Clearly Rene Gartner believes that this arrogance and abuse would not come out now that the COO was fired and he is the sole captain of the management board.
It is also rumored that Gartner is protected by certain politicians who hired him after he was fired from one of the banks on the island and was without employment for two years. SMN News did some research on Rene Gartner which shows that the so-called banker did not hold any job longer than six months but he will soon make a year at GEBE because certain politicians and friends he have in high places are protecting him. Hopefully, this invoice along with several others will appear in the audit that is now being conducted by SOAB.
