Breastfeeding Awareness March on Thursday

CAYHILLL:---- The St. Maarten Medical Center Breastfeeding Committee has rescheduled the breastfeeding awareness march which was previously scheduled to take place during August.
The new scheduled date is Thursday, September 10th, 2015 to begin at 4:00pm.
The march will begin at the Pier on the boardwalk by Barefoot restaurant down on the Front street to Jump up casino, turning unto back street and back to the pier after passing the tourist market.
Organizers of the Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign is Nurse Carleen Griffith and Stacey Violenus.
On Thursday, September 24th, 2015 the breastfeeding awareness campaign will conclude with a Breastfeeding Expo at the St. Maarten Medical Center. This event also had to be rescheduled due to bad weather in the month of August.
The breastfeeding committee joins with the World Health Organization August 1-7, to encourage breastfeeding to improve the health of babies around the world. In St. Maarten, the breastfeeding committee, Public Health and other stakeholders use the entire month of August. During the year, information sessions will continue to be held to educate families and empower them to provide the best nutrients for their babies.
