Mother of 14 year old fainted when she saw the text conversation between principal and her son
PHILIPSBURG: ---- The board of the Methodist Agogic Center has refused to comment on the arrest of one of their school principal’s last Friday. SMN News contacted the school on Tuesday morning and were told that the school board will not be making any comment. However, the Principal attended school at the John A Gumbs Campus on Monday and held a meeting with his staff for about seven hours. SMN News further learnt that the principal broke down and asked his staff to pray for him as he will be out of school for a few days. According to information provided to SMN News states that the principal met with the chairman of the school board after that meeting where they discussed the matter further.
SMN News has been reliably informed that a 14 year old boy that is attending the MAC high school is the victim that the Principal made contact with and was luring him to go to a hotel at after 10pm one night. According to the information SMN News received is that the child was on the phone texting the principal and he then asked his mother to go to a hotel. The source said that this incident occurred about a month and half ago and when it happened the mother took the phone from her son and when she read the conversation between her son and the school principal she was shocked and even got devastated. The source said that the mother took her son’s phone to the police station the following day and the police kept the phone and was in constant contact with the principal via the young man’s phone. SMN News further learnt that the police took their time with the investigation and when they believe they had enough they arrested the principal and conducted a search at his home where they seized a number of electronic items for further analysis. It’s not clear why the Public Prosecutor chose to release the principal even though police investigated this case for almost two months.
When SMN News contacted Press Prosecutor Karola Van Nie she said an arrest was made and house search was conducted on Friday and the person that was arrested was released the same day within the six hour time frame allotted to the police. Prosecutor Van Nie declined to release any further information on the ongoing investigation. Van Nie said that the principal still remains a suspect in the ongoing investigation.
