Willemstad:--- CHATA’s world tourism day celebration will be done through a culinary food festival; Flavors of Curaçao. CHATA regards partnership as an essential factor to move forward in the tourism and hospitality industry. This food festival is a clear example of CHATA’s partnership stance, as several important stakeholders worked towards the realization of this event. The profits made during the event will be invested in culinary educational programs and awareness campaigns. Flavors of Curaçao will reinvest all profits and employs roughly 200 people therefore, definitely acting as an economic stimulus.
CHATA is proud to acknowledge that Flavors of Curaçao is yet another achievement that attests of CHATA’s stance that partnership is important to move forward in the Tourism & Hospitality industry. CHATA has embraced cooperation and partnership in its operations, this reflects through the Flavors of Curaçao stakeholders that are conjointly realizing Flavors of Curaçao on World Tourism day. The stakeholders contributing to the realization of this event are both CHATA members and non-members, consisting of the 20 participating restaurants, food & beverage distributors, tour bus operators, car rentals, hotels, the media, the public sector and many more.
CHATA’s proceeds of this celebratory event will be invested in culinary educational programs and awareness campaigns. The Curaçao Tourism & Hospitality industry currently employs approximately 11,000 people. With Tourism growing at a rapid pace, the tourism & hospitality industry is in need of more personnel with culinary expertise to join the industry. With the proceeds CHATA will ensure that personnel in the industry will have the required competencies and contribute to Tourism- and Economic development.
Flavors of Curaçao will employ 200 people on World Tourism Day, varying from Chefs to Bar tenders. CHATA is proud to organize an event that will have a great socio-economic impact through employment of people during the event and investment of proceeds in the community.
