PHILIPSBURG:--- The meeting called by the majority on Thursday afternoon to elect the Chairman and vice chair persons of parliament went ahead even though the former vice chairman Cornelius de Weever cancelled on Thursday morning. The opening of meeting was chaired by Member of Parliament George Pantophlet to elect the Chairman. The chairman then elected MP Maurice Lake and MP Frans Richardson as committee members to conduct the elections of the chair and vice chairs of parliament.
The majority which comprised of eight members cast eight ballots all of which was in favor of Member of Parliament Sarah Wescot Williams. The meeting was then adjourned for one minute then it was reopened by the newly elected chairlady Sarah Wescot Williams who continued the election of the two vice chairs. The eight Members of Parliament then elected MP George Pantophlet as first vice chairman and Member of Parliament Frans Richardson as the second vice chairman of Parliament.
The newly elected chairlady of Parliament then closed the meeting.
