PHILIPSBURG:--- In keeping with October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, Be the Change Foundation presented a donation to the Positive Foundation in the amount of $1200.00.
The Positive Foundation organizes a month long annual breast cancer awareness campaign in October. They have many activities throughout the month. One activity is holding workshops on breast cancer awareness. The foundation was in need of funds to buy their own projector, portable screen, and sound system for their presentations.
Be the Change was pleased to present funds to help them in this. We fully support the Positive Foundation in their important endeavours to inform the community about breast cancer.
In addition, Be the Change also recently made a donation to the Community Outreach Mentorship & Empowerment (C.O.M.E) Center. Their goal is to provide empowerment and/or mentorship programs for disadvantaged individuals and groups in the community. The organization hopes to be able to help eradicate illiteracy in St. Maarten. Funds raised will go towards acquiring adult literacy reading materials for the literacy program.
