Will meet with Governor on Wednesday to discuss VDSM reports on the two outstanding Ministers.
PHILIPSBURG:---- Prime Minister William Marlin is currently holding four portfolios in the absence of Minister of Finance Richard Gibson who is currently in the Netherlands. Marlin is the Prime Minister that is in charge of the Ministry of General Affairs, he is the acting Minister of VROMI and also manning the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Justice in the absence of Minister Richard Gibson Sr.
Marlin told reporters on Wednesday that he was scheduled to meet with the governor on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the reports submitted by VDSM on the screening of candidates Minister Glen Daniel and Angel Meyers.
Asked by members of the media when the two Ministers will be sworn in Marlin said he does not know the content of the reports on the screening since he did not see them and did not discuss them at the time he spoke to reporters on Wednesday morning. He said that in the case of candidate Minister Angel Meyers, a complaint was filed against him for leaking documents, while the entire civil service can see the documents as they open up their computers. Marlin said while people are meant to believe that only certain persons can access information through the DACOS system he was made aware on Monday that everyone could access the documents such as advices and decisions taken by government. The Prime Minister said the complaint filed against the candidate Minister was done maliciously to derail the government and while people are looking at who could have leaked the document he is of the opinion that people should look at the contents of the documents which was done after a motion was passed in parliament prohibiting the caretaker government from signing off on contracts and appointing people to boards. Marlin said an appointment was made to the board of the Central Bank after the motion of no confidence was passed on September 30th 2015.
