Lions Club District Governor Marvin Grant pays courtesy calls on Prime Minister, Acting Governor.

wmarlinlions11122015PHILIPSBURG:--- District Governor of the St. Maarten Lions Club, Lion Marvin Grant, on Thursday paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister, Mr. William Marlin, and Acting Governor, Mr. Reynold Groeneveldt, and received high praise for the work the service club continues to do in the St. Maarten community.

District Governor Grant was accompanied on his visit by past District Governors (PDG), Lion Maxime Larmonie and Lion Wally Havertong, along with Zone Chairlady, Merlyn Schaminee and Lion President, Eldert Louisa.

President Louisa said Thursday’s the courtesy visit is one that is made each year shortly before the club members gather for their annual audit, however this year’s visit has added significance because the club members are celebrating their 45th anniversary year.

The occasion was not missed by Prime Minister Marlin, who congratulated the visiting delegation personally, thanking the service club and its members for all the work it has done on St. Maarten and for the St. Maarten community over its many years of existence.

Lion President Eldert in turn thanked the Prime Minister and during a separate visit, the Acting Governor also, for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with the top Lion officials.

He said immediately following the visits members went on to have a very productive and successful audit meeting, much to the satisfaction of the visiting District Governor Grant.
