MULLET BAY:--- Under sunny skies and perfectly manicured fairways, 64 golfers wearing Santa Claus hats and dressed in colorful Santa outfits, took over Mullet Bay Golf Course on Saturday while participating in the 2015 annual Santa Scramble.
The annual Santa Scramble tournament organized by the St. Maarten Golf Association was again a tremendous success. This year around the event was enjoyed by 16 teams of four members each.
After a fierce battle and lots of fun the winner of this year’s Santa Scramble was the team of
Gail and Clive Youlten, Kevin Brown and Bill Oliver who ended the 18 holes stroke play event with a remarkable an unbeatable total score of 53 low net after deduction of their combined handicap.
Second place was won by the team of Ron Odom, Deanna Rubano, Simon McCauley and Paul Snyder with a total score of 59 low net. Third prize was taken after a match of cards by the team consisting of Raoul Maxbrown, Mark Aziz, Mr. Tony and Stanley Samuel with a score of 60 low net.
After the tournament, all players enjoyed the award ceremony and after party at Crazy Cow Restaurant & Bar on Airport Boulevard. During this event awards were also presented to the annual winners for the 2015 Overall Monthly Medal Plays and to the finalists of the Club Championship 2015 named the Thomas Smith Challenge Cup after long time dedicated and honorary member of the SMGA, Thomas Smith. This year Marc Grenouilleau was crowned Club Champion 2015 while Yannick Cazemajou was the runner-up.
