The students and teachers of Imbali Center for Creative Movement will be showcasing their end of year dance recital on Sunday May 27, at 4pm at the Belair Fitness and Community Center.This recital brings to a closing what was an extremely active dance year for the students of Imbali dance school.
The recital has a dual purpose. First a Thanksgiving ceremony to all the individuals and organizations that assisted with travel expenses to two major events in which Imbali dance students participated. Secondly, the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the Imbali students who have had a banner year in 2 major events.
The first being the Regional French Federation of Dance competition in St. Barths, where many of the students medaled, receiving Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals competing against some 77 other students, and to the two Imbali dance student who having won Gold in St. Barths, qualified to compete at the National levels at the "Confederation National De Danse" in Nice, France.
Imbali is humbled by the amount of support the student received. Imbali takes this opportunity to publicly express heartfelt gratitude in particular to two organizations who came forward to assist with the travel expenses of getting Kiara Vanterpool and Jeremiah David to Nice, France. "The Dutch Vertegenwoordiging Representative" here on St. Maarten as well as "Help our Kids Foundation".
It is through their commitment and dedication to children of St. Maarten that today we are able to celebrate in the accomplishments of these stellar children. Their financial contribution made it possible for Kiara Vanterpool and Jeremiah David to travel to France and win three Gold medals for their hard work.
At the Recital you will have an opportunity to see all the competition children perform the works that made them winners. The recital features all the students in a variety of dance styles and techniques from drama to drumming, African dance, ballet, jazz, hip hop, as well as modern contemporary dance.
The tickets for the recital are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 Showtime is 4pm sharp.
