Pond Island:--- Despite heavy rains firemen fought hard on Tuesday to save a partly wooden house that was on fire. According to the fire men on the scene the fire started when the lone male occupant was cooking.
Fire officer Frans Nieuwenhoven said the inside of the house was totally destroyed but no one was injured.
