PHILIPSBURG:--- Member of Parliament Christopher Emmanuel let loose on former Prime Minister Leona Romeo Marlin on Friday during a meeting of Parliament to amend the civil code and prevent St. Maarten from being blacklisted.
MP Emmanuel said the Romeo Marlin 2 cabinet did nothing from prevented the country from being blacklisted and that he is happy the Council of Ministers voted on a decision to send the ousted Prime Minister home. “They have done absolutely nothing to prevent the blacklisting, what they have done is divide this country and I one says good riddance to Romeo Marlin.” Emmanuel said St. Maarten is in its current situation due to the ‘bad’ government headed by the former Prime Minister. He said the current coalition government will deal with the matter and approve the laws but not as is.
He said all the high council of states could think again because their voices have not made him tremble.
In the meantime, MP Rolando Brison submitted an amendment for the to the draft laws. Brison said as long as the amendment is accepted then he and his faction will support the draft laws which must be in place by November 1st, 2019.
