rangerover23102019PHILIPSBURG:--- Built Ford Tough® is the durable foundation of Ford pick-ups. Now the lineup is made even more formidable with the All New 2020 Ford Ranger, which was tested under more extreme conditions than you would ever encounter. The 2020 Ford Ranger continues to be one of the world’s top selling pick-up trucks, that is “Tough & Rugged,” and ready for all road terrains, as well as large and small jobs or, adventures, while wrapped in comfort.

“We are now excited to be the exclusive dealership to offer the New 2020 Ford Ranger pick-ups to our customers who have been anticipating it. The Ranger now comes with a vast range of new and improved interior and exterior features,” shares Tariq Amjad, Managing Director, Caribbean Auto, the authorized Ford dealer on the island.

Ranger’s Fresh Face

Rugged good looks define the current generation of the Ford Ranger, and the refreshed model sees styling changes that further enhance the off-road stance and visual appeal. Led by a cleaner new grille that features the distinctive ‘nostrils’ and a more distinctively chiseled lower bumper with broader intake, it offers a more dynamic look.

On-Road Comfort, Off-Road Conquered

For 2020, the Ranger’s suspension has been upgraded across the range to reduce and better control roll, with an emphasis on improving the driving experience when fully-laden and towing.

A key change has been the relocation of the front stabilizer, or anti-roll bar, from the tight confines in front of the fully independent suspension to a new position behind the axle, it said.

This new set-up optimizes the design and performance of the stabilizer bar, resulting in improved roll control – which, in turn, enables a decrease in front spring rates, thereby giving the Ranger better ride performance and comfort.

“Compared to the outgoing Ranger line-up which used a single front damper setting across the range, four damper rates have been developed for the new Ranger,” Ford said.

New packaging also enables geometry changes that bring improved ride, a reduction in body roll as well as improved steering precision. Crucially, while improving the drive and refinement, the suspension changes do not impact on Ranger’s exceptional towing and payload capabilities, which is the best in its class.

Impressive Tech

Some of the most impressive technological improvements in the new Ranger include:

    •  Semi-Automatic Parallel Park Assist (SAPPA) is now standard on the Ranger Wildtrak. The system uses ultrasonic sensors on the front and rear bumpers that search for and identify parking spaces that are big enough to parallel park the vehicle. A combination of the Ranger’s electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) and sensors are used to steer the vehicle safely into place, while the driver simply operates the gears, accelerator, and brake;
    • Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Alert, Lane-Keeping Alert, and Lane-Keeping Aid, and Auto High Beam Control;
  • Push Button Engine Start- Passive Entry and Passive Start (PEPS), fitted as standard on the XLT, Limited and Wildtrak models. The keyless entry and passive start uses an intelligent access system that allows the driver to unlock the vehicle and start the engine without removing the key fob from a pocket or bag. When the key is in the vehicle, the driver simply presses the Start/Stop button while applying the brake pedal to start the car;
    • The new key fob design incorporates a mechanical key blade to unlock the doors manually if the unit’s battery is depleted, as well as a designated back-up pocket between the cupholders that enables the push-button start. Once in the vehicle, the passive Start/Stop button allows the driver to turn on the ignition, or to start the engine while pressing the brake pedal;
    • 8” Sync 3 Touchscreen infotainment system featuring Android Auto, Apple Car Play, convenient multi-touch gestures (such as swipe, slide, scroll and pinch-to-zoom), plus voice recognition that uses simple, real-world voice commands. Standard on XLT, Limited and Wildtrak models.
    • Replacing the previous headlights, the 2020 Ford Ranger Limited and Wildtrak models get new-look Bi-LED headlights. The Bi-LED headlights provide top-spec Ford Ranger pick-ups with a new square-edged aesthetic and improved vision and visibility for drivers and other road users. It comes with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and LED Fog Lights.
