CIBC FIRSTCARIBBEAN staff forgoes Christmas Party gives to K1 BRITANNIA and St. Maarten TZU CHI instead.

cibck110122020PHILIPSBURG:--- In the spirit of giving, CIBC FirstCaribbean recently presented K1 Britannia and the St. Maarten Tzu Chi Foundations with donations to support their community charity projects this Holiday Season.
Both groups are well known for their yearlong initiatives and especially for their outreach work during this time of year.
Tzu Chi Foundation provides relief and assistance to people in need in areas of medicine, education, culture and environmental protection. With the great strain the pandemic has placed on people’s livelihoods and health, the need for such community aid has become even greater. Tzu Chi continues to provide emergency food packages, with its last relief program in September ended with 3,500 packages.

The donations come as the bank’s staff decided to forgo the usual annual Christmas party and instead give a portion of the money normally used for that purpose to the two charities as they continue to assist those in need and ease community burdens.
K1 Britannia has also seen an increase in aid requests. Its Disaster Relief and Crisis Team (DIRECT) over the last months has been delivering food and hygiene supplies throughout the communities and households impacted by the pandemic.
Its Annual Christmas Angels Program, now in its 7th year hopes to bring the Christmas spirit and spread some extra cheer to 1000 children whose families have been affected by Covid.
