PHILIPSBURG (DCOMM):--- Minister Omar Ottley and the Department of Community Development, Family & Humanitarian Affairs (CDFHA), proudly announce and invite the public to a Community Fun Day on Saturday, December 18 at the De Weever Property in Dutch Quarter.
The family fun day kicks off at 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM. There will be a children’s corner, lots of popcorn, cotton candy, a bouncy castle, face painting, Santa Claus, and visitors can win various prizes. It will be a family fun-filled day with lots of music and entertainment from a DJ.
The CDFHA and the Social Services department will also have an information booth open for family members and others who need to find out about the services that are available from the department.
A Nutritionist from Collective Prevention Services (CPS) and the Sint Maarten AIDS Foundation will also be present at the information booth.
The purpose of the Community Fun Day is to bring families from the Dutch Quarter area together to interact in a fun-filled manner observing all COVID-19 public health and safety protocols.
CDFHA will also share information during this community outreach initiative.
The Community Fun Day is an event that facilitates clean fun and includes a Senior Citizens Tent. There will also be lots of snacks and drinks available.
This pilot initiative will be assessed, and plans are to organize other Community Fun Days in other districts in 2022.
