CONDITIONS FOR ROADSIDE VENDING.

The Department of Economic Licenses hereby urges interested vendors to pay keen attention to the strict conditions applicable to roadside vendors this year :

1.   In order to achieve a uniform look, all roadside vendors, will no longer be allowed to vend from tents or other structures of their choosing and must conform to the predefined design(s) of the vending structures.

  1. All booths must be built according to one of the above design samples. The booths must be no larger than 4 X 4m (16m2), but can be painted/ decorated to the permit holder's taste.
  1. In order to prevent damage to the underground cables, all booths must be constructed off­ site and transported to the designated vending lot. Furthermore, nothing can be affixed to the trees or lampposts at the vending locations.
  1. Vending is only allowed within the following areas:
    1. Along the parking lot between Ketty's Kitchen and Fat Boy's Grill;
    2. Along the parking lots on W.G. Buncamper Road;
    3. Along the pond side From GEBE until the Sports Auditorium.
  1. An area of 3 meters must remain between the sidewalk and the booth (in the area mentioned in 4-a) or between the roadside and the booth (in areas mentioned in 4-b and 4-c). Within that 3 meters, chairs and tables may be placed. In total, each vendor should have an area of 4x7 m (28m2) of space at their disposal.
  1. Food trucks are permitted, but may only operate along the pond-side From GEBE until the Sports Auditorium.
  1. All structures and debris must be removed from the vending location within 2 days after the closing of Carnival. The vending location/ lot must be left in the state in which it was found or fines will be levied against the permit holder.
  1. Music will only be permitted from 5 pm until closing and cannot exceed a maximum of 75dB.

The above-mentioned conditions will be strictly enforced!

  1. Vending is only allowed within the following areas:

Application procedure

Lots will be given out to applicants on a first-come, first-serve basis. The department is therefore stressing that persons interested in street vending in the Philipsburg area submit their applications (and choose their vending location) early as space is limited. Lots may only be selected after all required documents have been obtained and the processing fees paid. The Department will not be reserving spaces if full applications have not been submitted, no exceptions.

All persons interested in roadside vending must come to the department with the following documentation before Apri l 8, 2022.

  1. A completed application form.
  2. A valid colored copy of your passport or identification card of the applicant and helper.
  3. A copy of Na/ls. 90.00 receipt from the Receivers Office from the applicant.
  4. A copy of the applicant's crib number declaration.
  5. A valid colored copy of the applicant's detailed Census Registration. (no older than six (6) months.)
  6. One (1) recent colored passport picture of the applicant and the helper.

7.  A valid colored copy of food handlers certificate from applicant and helper, if selling food or beverages.

  1. A statement of no objection from the Hygiene dept. (specifically for previous booth holders)

 

As it pertains to vending in the Festival Village, the Department of Economic Licenses has been provided with a list of all Festival Village booth holders. Only persons mentioned on the aforementioned list can apply for a vending license to operate a booth in the Festival Village. The applicable fee for these vendors is Naf 90.00.All applications must be submitted by April 8, 2022, to ensure timely processing.

The application period for Carnival vending is now open

"'Stricter conditions in place for roadside vendors"'

The Department of Economic Licenses hereby announces that persons interested in vending food, beverages, helium balloons, and other typical items associated with carnival can now apply for these licenses at the aforementioned department located at the new Government Administration Building, Soualiga Road #1, Pond Island, at the Economic Licenses customer counter (counter B). The deadline for these applications to be submitted is April 8, 2022.

The department further asks interested vendors to pay keen attention to the requirements and strict conditions applicable to roadside vendors this year.

2022 conditions for Roadside vendors only:

  1. The total fee will be Naf 180.00, which consists of the vending permit fee of Naf 90.00 plus, an additional fee of Naf 90.00 to cover government-related expenses associated with the structures being placed (and activities being carried out) on domain land.

 Furthermore, due to safety concerns, the no-vending zones of past years will be strictly applied for Carnival 2022. As a result of this, lots will be given out to applicants on a first-come,first-serve basis. The department is therefore stressing that persons interested in street vending in the Philipsburg area submit their applications (and choose their vending location) early as space is limited.

As it pertains to vending in the Festival Village, the SCDF has supplied to the Department of Economic Licenses a list of all Festival Village booth holders. Therefore, only persons mentioned on the aforementioned list can apply for a vending license to operate a booth in the Festival Village.

All persons interested in street vending and vending within the Festival Village (booth holders), must come to the department with the following documentation before April 8, 2022.

  1. Application form

 A copy of your passport or ID

  1. From the Receiver's Office: A receipt of Fl. 180.00
  1. Copy of your crib declaration( must walk with this when paying at the Receivers Office)

 

5.   From the Census Office: Registration Form

 

6. One {1} Passport picture of Applicant.

 

7. Food handler's certificate (if not already in possession)

 

The information listed under 2, 5, 6, and 7 is also applicable to your helper.

 

The cost of the license for the entire Carnival season is one hundred and eighty guilders (Naf. 180.00) .

 

The Upcoming Carnival Festive Season 2022 Is From April 16th To May 3rd, 2022. To Ensure A Safe And Enjoyable Carnival Festivity For All, The Ministry Of TEATI Is Collaborating With The Ministries Of VSA, VROMI, JUSTICE, General Affairs, And With N.V. GEBE To Put Plans In Order Relating To The Carnival Vendors. Applications Are Now Available For Booth Holders At The Carnival Village And Vendors Who Wish To Vend Along The Roadside During The Carnival Period.
