MARIGOT:--- Le rassemblement Saint-Martinois (RSM) headed by Louie Mussington and Alternative headed by Valerie Damaseau have joined forces by forming a coalition to contest the second round of the Territorial Elections that will take place on March 27th, 2022.
The RSM/ Alternative coalition list will be submitted on Tuesday at the Prefecture of Saint Martin. SMN News learned that Alternative received five seats on the RSM slate. The candidates are Damaseau Valerie , Gill Audrey, Venthou-Dumaine Bernadette, Seymour Ken, and Maccow Shermon.
Team Gibbs headed by Daniel Gibbs was submitted on Monday unchanged.
Leader of Saint Martin Avec Vous Jacques Hamlet already announced publicly that his party will not be contesting the second round of the Territorial Elections, however, SMN News was unable to confirm whether or not the party will contest the second round.
Leader of the Generation Hope Julo Charville said on Tuesday that he was busy forming an Alliance with another political party. Charville said he would not say which political party he is negotiating with until he gets a signature and the ink is dry. However, SMN News learned that Charville is negotiating with some of the candidates that postulated on Saint Martin Avec Vous, while the leader of the party Jacques Hamlet must consent for the candidates on his list to run on a separate list for the second round of the territorial elections.
All political parties contesting the second round of the Territorial Elections must submit their list by 6 pm today March 22nd, 2022.
After this article was published Charville said in a telephone interview to SMN News that three political parties namely Generation Hope, Avenir, and Saint Martin Avec Vous formed an alliance and they will be contesting the second round of the territorial elections.
