caribixsxm19042022MARIGOT:--- The CTU is an inter-governmental regional organization, established by treaty by the Governments of the Member States of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in 1989. Our work is based on multi-stakeholder engagement and as such we have the Member States and private sector members. The CTU is a source of ICT advice for regional Governments and facilitates the formulation of Caribbean ICT policy and best practices. The Secretariat, hosted in Trinidad and Tobago, represents and advocates for Caribbean ICT positions at international fora. Due to our commitment to our guiding principles of integrity, transparency, accountability, and excellence, the CTU is globally recognized and has attracted globally recognized strategic partners and supporters for its activities.

CTU Projects
The CTU in keeping with its mandate to its member states has successfully conducted several regional projects and collaborations with its stakeholders.
These projects include:
1. CaribIX
2. Reduction in Roaming Charges Declaration sign
3. Spectrum Management
4. Internet Governance
5. Caribbean Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (CARCIP)
6. The Caribbean ICT Policy Rapid Response Imitative – Completed in 2010
How Can We Partner?
The CTU seeks to empower its primary stakeholders (Ministers of Government responsible for ICT) at the national level to drive the processes necessary to advance to 21st Century Government. The CTU is committed to continuing its work to develop its members’ government-wide area networks (GWANS) while facilitating and coordinating the activities of other stakeholders.
The ultimate goal is to :
 improve the service quality,
 promote transparent and efficient interaction,
 enhance public trust in government, and
 drive better citizen experience.

Mr. Rodney Taylor is a national of Barbados and was appointed as CTU Secretary-General on 1st March 2021. As Chief Digital Technology Officer with Barbados’ Ministry of Innovation, Science and Smart Technology (MIST), Mr. Taylor led Barbados’ digital transformation, improving public sector service delivery through the strategic use of innovation, science, and SMART technology. With over 20 years of professional experience, Mr. Taylor has worked with regional governments to develop policies to govern information and communications technology (ICT) and represented the region in many international ICT fora. Under Mr. Taylor’s vision and leadership, he would continue to work to operationalize the CTU’s Caribbean Centre of Excellence, to offer consultancy services to the Members, Non-member States, and Private Sector organizations to advise on 21st Century Governance. Mr. Taylor is an advisor on Internet Governance and is a founding member and former Chairman of the Barbados Chapter of the Internet Society.
