Flow supports Foster Care Month.

~ partners with FJIS to Host Family Fun Day on May 26 & more~

fostercare24052022PHILIPSBURG:---  Telecom provider Flow pledged its support to Foundation Judicial Institutes St. Maarten (FJIS) in its endeavor to organize Foster Care Month during the entire month of May.
The company is assisting with efforts to create awareness for the admirable and very important cause of fostering children in need of a loving, safe, and stable home.
All month long FJIS has been out in the community to help raise awareness of the importance of fostering youths. Flow assisted FJIS with t-shirts to help spread awareness with the slogan ‘Be the Village, Foster a Child’, and this Thursday, May 26th, 2022, Flow and FJIS will host a Family Fun Day at the Emilio Wilson Park.
The Fun Day will further build on FJIS’ community outreach efforts over the last month to bring awareness and encourage the community’s openness and participation in fostering children in need of a home. It promises to be a day of great fun, games, face painting, and more.
The event will host children currently in foster care and is also open to the public.
The partners encourage anyone who is interested to come out, enjoy and learn more about what fostering is all about. If interested, you can also speak with experts on location and explore what the requirements are if you decide to open your home to a youth in need of a safe and stable environment.
“We're proud to partner with FJIS on this important cause. Providing a child the stability of a loving home brings an important and positive change to the course of a young life. Each child deserves stability, safety, and the chance at a bright future, and becoming a foster parent brings that opportunity to a child.” says Rauf Engels, Statutory Director of Flow Eastern Caribbean.
“As the saying goes, ‘It takes a village to raise a child’ and with foster care, the village steps up to make sure the children in our community can thrive with the love and stability they need. We believe in taking action together to effect change for our island and commend the FJIS team for their efforts throughout the month. We invite anyone interested in fostering to come out and learn more about it this Thursday,” Engels continued.
The awareness activities throughout the month included the presence of fostering experts at local supermarkets, a social media campaign, radio interviews, and much more.
