PHILIPSBURG:--- Leo Nichele serves as Leo Advisory Panelist for Constitutional Area 1
Leo Nichele Smith-Abreu is representing Constitutional Area 1 as a Leo Advisory Panelist for the period of 2022-2024. The Advisory Panelist represents Leos and Lions in their respective constitutional area and serves as an ambassador for the Leo program. All 32 panelists from 7 constitutional areas around the world are appointed for a two-year period by the board of Lions Club International based in Chicago, Illinois.
The Leo Club Program Advisory Panel is comprised of two Lions and two Leos from each constitutional area. Each fiscal year, one Lion and one Leo from each area are selected to serve a two-year term. Constitutional Area 1 comprises the USA, Canada, and the English-speaking Caribbean Islands from the Cayman Islands in the west down to Suriname east. There are over 200.000 Leo Club members and 1.4 million Lions Club members serving their communities around the world.
Leo Nichele Smith-Abreu is a Past President of the St. Maarten South Leo Club (Omega) based in Sint Maarten and is the Charter President of Sub-District 60B’s Leo District for 2021-2022. She is happy to assist in furthering her contribution for benefit of the Leo Program with many other Leos and Lions from the various constitutional areas.
As a charter Leo District President, she has encouraged innovation and creativity in the way her club members serve their community as well as the way they engage their own members. She is looking forward to inspiring more Leos to take on leadership roles and using their skill sets to create innovative projects and ideas while enhancing the membership experience.
The Leo Club Program Advisory Panel is a communication vehicle for Leos and Lions to share their ideas about the Leo Program with Lions Club International. The Advisory Panel is separated into three committees, Recruitment, Membership Experience, and Transition. While serving on their committees, panelist uses their combined knowledge and experience to create resources on best practices for Leo Clubs. Leo Nichele presently serves as Co-Chair of the Membership Experience committee.
