Man found Dead on Sucker Garden Road, Victim died as result of hit and run. Suspect Arrested.

suckergardenhitandrun21112022PHILIPSBURG: --- On Sunday morning police were called to Sucker Garden Road where the body of a man was found around 05:00 am.
Police said in a bulletin that while at the location officers encounter a male victim who had already passed away close to crossing Arch Road.
Police later found the vehicle hit that was involved in a hit-and-run. Later on, Sunday the suspect that was driving the vehicle that was involved in the hit-and-run was also arrested.
Police said so far, the victim of the latest road fatality has not been identified as such they are calling on the community to assist police in finding the relatives of the deceased man.

Suspect involved in fatal hit-and-run accident arrested.

Traffic Department personnel arrested a male suspect on Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2022, in relation to a fatal hit-and-run accident that took place early Sunday morning.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a dark gray car had struck the victim in the vicinity of the intersection of Arch Road and Sucker-garden Road and then continued driving away. He later abandoned the car in the area of Upper Princess Quarter.

After a brief investigation conducted by traffic personnel, they later discovered who the driver of the gray car was. He was arrested in connection with this incident. Following his arrest, the suspect was taken to the police station where he was detained pending further investigation.

So far the victim who was discovered deceased on the Sucker-Garden roadside has not been identified. The victim is about 1.80M tall, with light brown skin, and braided hair with a full beard. He was dressed in red/black long sports pants, a black shirt, and black shoes with a neon green vest.

Police urge anyone who has information regarding this incident or who may know the identity of the victim to contact the Police Traffic Department and assist with information to better aid the investigation.
