SMILE Opens Early Bird Season.

smile2022PHILIPSBURG:--- Today, the St. Maarten Innovations, Initiatives & Industries Link-Up Event (SMILE), opened its early bird ticket season for its 2023 edition. This was announced today by the organizer the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA).
SMILE’s fourth edition is slated for October 27th / 28th 2023. Early bird passes will be available from the 25th April, until the 1st August. Tickets can be reserved via the dedicated event website smilesintmaarten.com.

SMILE brings together small and large businesses, NGO’s and government entities in an attempt to inspire innovation, sustainability, and networking. Its 2022 edition received 350 representatives representing 129 companies from 9 countries, as well as hosting 20 masterclasses and workshops centered on innovation, sustainability, marketing, human relations strategies, and business updates provided by international as well as local speakers.
In its third, 2022 edition, SMILE added a “SXM Art Fair’’ and a “Made Here Market’’, highlighting the diversification of the economy to its various activities.
Confirmed keynote speakers for this year are Megan Smith, former Chief Technology Officer of President Obama and founder of Shift 7, her colleague Susan Alzner, Co-founder and Chief of Strategy & Ops, and James Ellsmoor, founder of the global Virtual Island Summit.

The St. Maarten Innovation, Initiatives & Industries Link-up Event (SMILE) took place for the first time in 2018. It is a platform to get inspired, connect, and to reinforce business and NGO networks – in the most inspiring environs of the world, the Caribbean. Every company or individual who is interested is welcome.
SMILE’s main supporters for its 2023 edition are Grant Thornton, the Department of Culture of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports, Dynaf, the Bureau for Intellectual Property, and University St. Maarten (USM).
