The festivities created an atmosphere of unity, allowing the Christian community, local residents, and people from different communities to connect and appreciate the heritage of Haiti.
Dignitaries and special guests from both sides of the island graced the celebration, adding to the grandeur of the occasion. The Vice President of HASMA, Who also holds the Hat as president of Le Sommet Foundation Mr. Fabio Doralice, expressed his delight at witnessing the overwhelming support and participation of individuals from other nationalities paying homage to the Haitian flag, eagerly queuing up to savor Haitian cuisine, and embracing the rich cultural experiences. "Today, as we commemorate the 220th anniversary of the Haitian Flag, I am filled with immense joy and gratitude that we were able to celebrate this significant day on its actual anniversary, May 18th. It is a remarkable coincidence that this year, May 18th is a holiday for both French and Dutch SXM, allowing us to come together as one community and honor the Haitian flag in unison. We are truly fortunate and grateful for this alignment, as it symbolizes the unity and solidarity we strive for on this island. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this Flag Day celebration a resounding success, and I am proud to witness the continued growth and recognition of Haitian culture in St. Maarten.
