PHILIPSBURG:--- Following up on the assignment from the Governor dated January 18, 2024, as a result of the outcome of the January 11, 2024 elections, the appointed Informateurs hereby take the opportunity to inform the public in general, that the work to deliver timely on mentioned assignment is in full swing.
In addition to the input of the elected political parties, we note that community engagement can help the government to promote sustainable decisions, and improve the efficiency, legitimacy, and transparency of their decision-making. In line with the Governor’s assignment, a selection of community stakeholders was made to gather an overall view on the elections and the formation of the next government. The boards of selected civic organizations and government-owned companies are requested to monitor their emails, both inbox and junk mail, to avoid missing the opportunity to share their considerations with the Informateurs post-elections. The selected organizations are requested to thoroughly review and answer the questions provided with the input of their membership and/ or associates. The community’s cooperation and input in executing the assignment, leading to the formation of a new government for Sint Maarten is appreciated.
