Parliament to have a Public meeting on the occasion of the closing of the 2020–2024 Parliamentary term.

PHILIPSBURG:---  The House of Parliament will sit in a Public meeting on February 9, 2024.

The Public meeting is scheduled for Friday at 10.00 hrs. in the Legislative Hall at Wilhelminastraat #1 in Philipsburg.

The agenda point is:
Closing of the Parliamentary Term 2020-2024

 

Article 46 of the Constitution stipulates that the duration of the Parliament shall be for four years. This current Parliament sat for the first time on February 10, 2020, and based on the aforementioned article, the current term will come to an end on February 10, 2024.
During this meeting meeting Members of Parliament will be given the opportunity to reflect on the past four years and address Parliament and the people of Sint Maarten on this occasion.

Members of the public are invited to the House of Parliament to attend parliamentary deliberations. All persons visiting the House of Parliament must adhere to the house rules.
The House of Parliament is located across from the Court House in Philipsburg.
