~New Sustainable Engineering Exchange Program Strengthens U.S.-Aruba Partnership ~
Last night, the U.S. Consulate General Curacao, in partnership with the University of Aruba, hosted a networking reception to celebrate the first-ever sustainable engineering exchange program between Pennsylvania State University and the University of Aruba. Bringing together individuals from public, private, and educational sectors, the event showcased the power of cross-sectoral collaboration in tackling climate challenges and fostering economic and educational opportunities.
Chief of Mission Margy Bond emphasized the critical role of sustainable engineering in shaping a greener future for Aruba and commended the collaborative efforts of Aruban and American students in researching options for businesses to meet green energy goals.
The exchange program facilitates direct collaboration between Aruban and American students, who engage virtually throughout the semester to learn sustainable engineering concepts. From March 2-9, these students come together in person to conduct comprehensive research at the Amsterdam Manor Hotel and immerse themselves in the history and culture of Aruba. Their ultimate goal is to develop actionable recommendations for enhancing the hotel's operational efficiency and promoting sustainable practices.
Bond commended the dedication of the students and professors involved, highlighting the program's role in fostering lasting connections and mutual understanding between nations. She pledged continued U.S. engagement and support to address the challenge of climate change and urged attendees to commit to collective action in pursuit of a sustainable future.
