PHILIPSBURG:--- As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community, the St. Maarten Police Force (KPSM) conducted thorough street controls on Friday, July 26, 2024, between 05:00 PM and 11:45 PM. A significant police presence was observed in the following areas:
- Cay Bay
- Cause Way Bridge
- Dutch Quarter
- Belvedere Estate
These operations focused on "Blocks," where individuals often gather and sometimes create disturbances. The primary aim was to maintain public order and deter any activities that might disrupt the peace.
In addition to maintaining public order, KPSM also carried out traffic controls per the traffic ordinance of St. Maarten. During this operation, 80 vehicles were stopped, and 15 fines were issued to drivers who were found to violate traffic regulations.
KPSM appeals to all drivers to operate their vehicles responsibly and ensure compliance with all traffic laws. This includes keeping your vehicle up to date with necessary maintenance and having all required documents readily available when asked by law enforcement officials. Your cooperation in these matters helps expedite the process and minimizes inconvenience for all parties involved.
We greatly appreciate the community's support and understanding as we work together to create a safer environment for everyone.
