IPFest: A Game Changer for Women Entrepreneurs in Curaçao.

~IPFest Curaçao was a transformative experience with tangible results.~

curacao14082024WILLEMSTAD, CURAÇAO:--- The recently concluded Islandpreneur Power Fest (IPFest) 2024 Curaçao exceeded all expectations, becoming a landmark event for women entrepreneurs in the Dutch Caribbean and beyond. Initially designed to host 40 participants and held at the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten, the event saw an overwhelming response, with 45 dynamic women securing their spots and a waiting list brimming with eager hopefuls.
The three-day event, held from August 7 to 9 in collaboration with the U.S. Mission to the Dutch Caribbean, began with a warm and welcoming reception at the Bario Hotel, setting the tone for what would be a truly transformative experience. IPFest 2024 was not just another conference but a convergence of ambition, innovation, and opportunity.
A Beacon of Sub-National Diplomacy
The event is a prime example of sub-national diplomacy, leveraging the expertise and influence of an extraordinary roster of speakers and mentors. A renowned venture capitalist, Charles Robinson, shared invaluable insights on accessing finance and scaling businesses. Aly Merritt, Managing Director of Atlanta Tech Village, and Dr. Dawn Sizemore of the Russel Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs brought the latest strategies from the heart of Atlanta’s entrepreneurial ecosystem on the 21st Century Basics of Business.
Natasha Chatlein, an innovation ecosystem builder from Silicon Valley with roots in Curaçao, offered attendees a unique perspective on bridging local innovation with global markets by accessing tech. Nelida Cathalina, an export and business coach, delivered actionable strategies to help entrepreneurs take their businesses to the next level. The incomparable Leslie Samuel, a world-renowned online business expert, guided the event as its host, ensuring every session was engaging and impactful and also doing a live workshop on how to use AI to improve productivity and scale business. At the helm of it all was Dr. Ife Badejo, the visionary behind Islandpreneur, whose leadership and passion were the driving forces behind the event's success and who also shared her 4C Framework to build and expand networks.
Real Results for Real Women
The impact of IPFest 2024 was immediate and tangible. One attendee walked away with four new clients, a testament to the power of networking and the quality of connections made during the event. Another participant had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect with her industry icon, who not only offered invaluable advice but pledged to introduce her to other key players in the industry—potentially opening doors that will shape the future of her business.
A Memorable Closing and Gratitude to Partners
The closing event was a unique and heartfelt candle-making session at Integra Natural in Sambil Mall, hosted in collaboration with Integra Natural, Sambil Mall, and The Wine Factory. This final gathering was more than just a creative activity; it was a moment of reflection and celebration of the connections and knowledge gained over the past three days.
Islandpreneur and the IPFest 2024 team extend their deepest gratitude to all the partners—U.S. Mission to the Dutch Caribbean, Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten, Curaçao Tourist Board, Integra Natural, Sambil Mall, The Wine Factory, Crab Social, ERM Quality Experience, and Eminent Business Support — whose continued commitment and support made this event possible. Their involvement was crucial in creating an environment where women entrepreneurs could thrive, learn, and grow.
As the participants of IPFest Curaçao return to their respective businesses, they do so not only with new knowledge and connections but with the confidence that they are part of a growing movement empowering women entrepreneurs across the globe.
