PHILIPSBURG:---- Today, August 19th, 2024, voters on St. Maarten are once again called to vote for the candidate on the political candidate they chose to support and wants to represent them hopefully for the next four years.
The current Prime Minister Dr. Luc Mercelina invoked article 59 of the constitution when his 2x4 government lost its support from NOW Member of Parliament Kevin Maingrette.
Contesting these snap elections are nine (9) political parties, which are as follows.

3. ECE (EMPIRE CULTURE EMPOWERMENT)
4. D.P (Democratic Party)
5. OMC (OUALICHI MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE
6. NOW (NATION OPPORTUNITY WEALTH)
7. UPP (UNITED PEOPLES PARTY)
8. PFP (PARTY FOR PROGRESS)
9. URSM 9UNIFIED RESILIENT SINT MAARTEN MOVEMENT
