Santo Domingo:--- Arajet, the low-priced Dominican airline celebrates its second anniversary on September 15 and reported that they mobilized more than 120,000 passengers in August, exceeding the barrier of 100 thousand passengers for the third consecutive month, and continue to lead the movement of registered passengers among local airlines, managing to maintain a milestone in the country's commercial aviation.
These figures came from the monthly report of the Dominican Civil Aviation Board (JAC), which highlights that Arajet is the Dominican airline that had the most passenger flow from the country different airports.
They indicated that during August, Arajet transported a total of 87,932 passengers who visited or left the Dominican Republic. In addition, they highlighted that more than 33,000 passengers adhere to that figure who made a connection to their destination from the International Airport of the Americas, thus reaching a total of more than 120,000.
Arajet has consolidated itself as the option for tourism and business trips from and to the Dominican Republic and the continent, betting on turning the country into the new air hub of connections of the continent. The JAC also indicated that the flag carrier heads the Dominican airlines between Sky High and Air Century who transported 15,619 and 5,366 passengers respectively.
Victor Pacheco Méndez, CEO & Founder of Arajet, congratulated all staffs on the second anniversary and said that these figures that are breaking records month after month in the commercial aviation of the Dominican Republic are the stimulus to continue building together the new era of the regional aviation.
"Together we are democratizing the skies of the continent, now more people can travel, and we have achieved countless milestones in these two years that encourage us to continue making history," Pacheco said.
The airline indicated that they expect to end 2024 transporting approximately 1.3 million passengers to consolidate its exponential growth from Canada to the southern cone with the new routes that will be operating from Punta Cana International Airport.
