The Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA) invites primary schools and young nature enthusiasts from Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St. Eustatius, and St. Maarten to join the FREE Big Live Nature Quiz - Kids Edition on Friday, November 1st, 2024! This fun online educational event gives kids the chance to learn about nature while competing with kids from across the Dutch Caribbean.
Why Join the Big Live Nature Quiz?
The quiz is designed to inspire and educate children about the unique ecosystems of the Dutch Caribbean under the theme “Nature’s Locals, Newcomers, and Intruders”. Kids will discover fascinating facts about native, non-native, and invasive species while learning how to protect their island's environment through interactive, trivia-based questions.
A True Team Effort
This initiative is a collaboration between all six Dutch Caribbean islands and DCNA’s conservation partners: Aruba Conservation Foundation, CARMABI, STINAPA, Saba Conservation Foundation, St. Eustatius National Parks Foundation (STENAPA), and the Nature Foundation Sint Maarten. This effort is also made possible thanks to the participation of local primary schools, Dutch Caribbean TV and financial support by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, and the Dutch National Postcode Lottery.

Who Can Join?
● Open to kids in grades 5 and 6 (Dutch system: "groep 7 and 8")
● Teams of up to 4 kids or individual participants
● Schools can register multiple teams
● Registration required – teachers must register their teams via www.BigLiveNatureQuiz.org
What Kind of Questions?
The quiz will feature multiple-choice questions based on DCNA’s BioNews Kids magazine (2024 edition). No preparation is required, but reading the magazine can help! Participating schools will receive hard copies of BioNews Kids before the quiz, and it’s also available online in English, Dutch, Papiamentu, and Papiamento.
