PHILIPSBURG:--- A shooting on Kim Sha Beach late Sunday night has left two persons injured, police said in a press statement.
According to Police, the shooting took place around 10 pm at the parking lot of Kim Sha Beach.
Police said when they reached the scene, they found one of the victims with gunshot wounds to his lower body.
The victim was assisted by the Ambulance personnel who arrived at the location and shortly after rushed to the St. Maarten Medica Central for emergency treatment. Later that same night police was informed that a second victim who may have been involved in this situation appeared at the St. Maarten Medical Center with gunshot wounds, also to his lower body.
Police further stated that the reason or cause of this shooting incident was not apparent to them, so the detective department continued with the investigation.
